ESSAY 71
THE
"EATING HUMAN FLESH IS OK"
MYTH
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever
noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, what-
ever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything
is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such
things. Whatever you have learned or received or
heard from me, or seen in me--put it into prac-
tice. And the God of peace will be with you.
(Philippians 4:8, NIV).
This will be a myth of the near future unless the
United States gets off its slippery slope. Cannibalism has
enough shock value left to awaken us, hopefully.
Some in China are eating their babies. Dr. Zou Qin,
who performs required state abortions, said that she had
eaten 100 aborted babies within the last six months.
Another female doctor interviewed by the EASTERN EXPRESS
(April 12, 1995), along with other abortionists, eats abort-
ed babies, and gives others away for human consumption.
Warren Lee, President of the Hong Kong Nutrition Associa-
tion, said,
Eating fetuses is a kind of traditional
Chinese folklore. In terms of nutrition, a fetus
would be a good source of protein and fats and
there are minerals in bone.
[Frances Baker, "Aborted fetuses as health food," LIGHT,
July-August 1995, p. 5]
Fox TV recently showed a TALES FROM THE CRYPT movie
starring Christopher Reeves. He and his wife owned a restau-
rant that became successful by serving human flesh. The
public was depicted as enjoying the taste of human steaks,
thinking it was beef or pork. At first, he was repulsed by
the idea, but later adjusted to it and acquired a taste for
human flesh. It was justified because "bad guys" served as
the entree. Fried Green Tomatoes had a similar theme. These
types of stories desensitizes people to violence.
Pagan tribes from Africa or South America practice
cannibalism. However, Judeo-Christian America has been
insulated from this type of thought--at least up to now.
Media hype about Jeffrey Dahmer also desensitizes.
Then comedians pick up on cannibalism and make jokes about
it, which further desensitizes people.
True stories of survival by eating human flesh also
helps rationalize cannibalism.
Human genes have been grafted into sheep to make shear-
ing easier. Eating sheep with human genes is a type of
cannibalism.
Secular humanists teach that we are mere animals. We,
like other animals, live for awhile, then die and cease to
exist. If we eat the flesh of other lower forms of "evolved"
animals, why shouldn't we eat the flesh of other human
beings?
Jaded people are tempted to partake of the bizarre and
forbidden. If the LORD allows us to continue on this path
that we have decided to take, cannibalism will become PC.
I, for one, do not wish to become desensitized to sin.
I choose to serve the LORD.
